Live Dealer

What actually changes

  • The maths does not. Live European roulette carries the same 2.70% edge as the digital version. Live blackjack rules are the ones printed at that table.
  • The pace is slower. Around 40 to 50 roulette spins an hour against several hundred on a digital table. Fewer decisions per hour means less money at risk per hour, which for most players is a genuine advantage.
  • Minimum stakes are higher. Studio tables cost real money to run, so limits usually start above the digital equivalent.
  • No demo mode. You cannot try a live table for free, so learn the rules on the digital version first.

Classic tables versus game shows

Live studios now run two quite different products. Classic tables — blackjack, roulette, baccarat — carry the same well-understood house edges as their digital counterparts. Game show formats built around money wheels and bonus rounds are presented as entertainment and generally carry a noticeably higher house edge, often in the 4% to 8% range depending on which segment you bet.

Neither is wrong to play. But they are priced differently, and the presentation does not make that obvious. Check the RTP in the game info panel before you sit down, exactly as you would with a slot.

Questions

Are live dealer games more trustworthy than digital ones?

They are more transparent in the sense that you watch the cards being dealt. Digital games are not less fair, though — they use certified random number generators audited by independent testing houses. If seeing the physical deal makes you more comfortable, that is a reasonable preference; it is not a measurable safety difference at a licensed operator.

What happens if my connection drops mid-hand?

The hand continues and is settled server-side according to the rules — in blackjack, an unplayed hand is normally resolved by standing on your current total. Your balance updates when you reconnect. Check the specific game’s rules on this before playing at higher stakes, as the handling varies slightly by studio.
