Responsible Gambling
This site is funded by affiliate commissions, which gives us an obvious incentive to encourage play. So let us be direct: every casino game is designed to lose you money over time, gambling is not a way to make income, and for some people it becomes genuinely harmful. This page is here because that matters more than a commission.
Tools every licensed casino must offer
These are usually found under Account Settings or Responsible Gaming. Setting them takes two minutes and they are far more effective decided in advance than in the middle of a session.
- Deposit limits — a hard cap per day, week or month. Increases normally take effect only after a cooling-off period; decreases apply immediately.
- Loss limits — caps net losses rather than deposits, which is the more meaningful number.
- Session time limits — logs you out after a set period. Useful because time distortion is one of the strongest effects of continuous play.
- Reality checks — periodic on-screen reminders of elapsed time and net position.
- Cooling-off — a short break, typically 24 hours to six weeks, that cannot be reversed early.
- Self-exclusion — closes the account for six months or longer and blocks marketing. National schemes such as GAMSTOP in the UK apply this across every licensed operator at once.
- Disable reverse withdrawals — stops you cancelling a pending cashout and playing the money back.
Signs worth taking seriously
Harm rarely arrives as a single dramatic moment. It usually shows up first as small changes in behaviour. If several of these are familiar, it is worth talking to someone.
- Betting more than you planned, or returning to win back what you lost.
- Gambling with money meant for rent, bills, food or debt repayment.
- Borrowing money, selling things, or hiding transactions to keep playing.
- Being dishonest with people close to you about how much or how often.
- Feeling restless, irritable or low when you cannot play.
- Missing work, sleep, or commitments because of gambling.
- Playing to escape stress, anxiety or low mood rather than for entertainment.
Where to get free confidential help
These services are free and independent of any casino or affiliate. You do not need to be in crisis to contact one.

| GAMSTOP | United Kingdom | Free self-exclusion across all UK-licensed online operators at once. |

Gambling debt feels permanent in the moment and it is not — but that is much easier to see with support than alone.
Common misconceptions
Is a machine ever “due” for a win?
No. Each spin is independent and the random number generator has no memory of previous results. A slot that has paid nothing for two hundred spins has exactly the same odds on the next spin as one that just paid out. This belief — the gambler’s fallacy — is one of the most reliable ways to lose more than intended.
Can I win back losses if I just keep playing?
The house edge applies to every new bet regardless of your history. Chasing losses increases the amount at risk without improving the odds, which is why it is the single most common pattern in gambling harm. Money already lost is gone; the next bet is a separate decision with the same negative expectation.
Does a high RTP mean I will get 96% of my money back?
Not in your session. RTP is measured across millions of spins pooled from all players. Over a few hundred spins your actual result can be far above or far below it. A 96% RTP means the game is designed to keep 4% of everything staked over its lifetime, not that your evening will end at 96%.
Do betting systems like Martingale work?
No. Doubling after each loss produces many small wins and occasional catastrophic ones, and table limits guarantee you eventually hit a ceiling you cannot double past. It changes the shape of your results, not the expected value. No staking pattern converts a negative-expectation game into a positive one.
