Crypto Casinos
Crypto solves a real problem — bank declines and slow withdrawals — and introduces two new ones: price volatility and weaker regulatory protection. Both are worth understanding before you fund an account.
What “provably fair” actually means
Provably fair is a cryptographic method that lets you verify a specific game round was not altered after you placed your bet. The casino commits to a server seed in advance by publishing its hash, combines it with a seed you control, and reveals the original seed afterwards so you can confirm the result was fixed before you played.
It is a genuine guarantee, and a narrow one. It proves individual rounds were not tampered with. It does not prove the house edge is reasonable, that the operator is solvent, or that your withdrawal will be paid. Those still depend on the operator and its licence.
Before you deposit crypto
- Transactions are irreversible. There is no chargeback, no dispute mechanism and no bank to intervene. Sending to a wrong address means the funds are gone.
- A balance in crypto moves while you play. You can finish a session up in coin terms and down in your own currency. Casinos that denominate your balance in fiat avoid this.
- Crypto does not mean anonymous. Licensed operators still run identity verification, and blockchains are permanent public records.
- Check the network. Sending on the wrong chain is one of the most common and least recoverable mistakes.
- Many crypto-first casinos are offshore-licensed. That is the main structural trade-off — read our licensing comparison.
